So during the school year, my literature class had an interesting activity. We were supposed to write an anti-thesis to the first stanza of Christina Rossetti’s poem A Birthday which goes like
My heart is like a singing bird
Whose nest is in a water’d shoot;
My heart is like an apple-tree
Whose boughs are bent with thickset fruit;
My heart is like a rainbow shell
That paddles in a halcyon sea;
My heart is gladder than all these
Because my love is come to me.
The entire poem can be read here .
Anyways, yesterday I decided, why not let my followers have a go and create their own versions of an anti-thesis for the poem. So fill up the form below and send it to me or keep it to yourself if you wish to. I might post some if I like them a lot.
