So I recently keeled over with an infamous disease known as malaria. It was no fun ride having your insides be completely against your will to live, but that is a story for another day. Today I shall be looking at a list of things to avid doing while you’re sick, things I should’ve avoided at least.
1. College (or School)
Yes, I know you miss your friends. Yes I know you heal better with your classmates, but you must avoid all study for at least a week. There is no way you will be able to work your head in or out of the classroom and at the end you’ll just end up working too hard and having learned nothing. So chill out a bit sit back and hit the library later, I’m sure your friends will be able to help out with anything you miss.
2. The Gym
So you’ve decided to live a healthy lifestyle. Hit the gym work-out a bit and get your body where it needs to be. Sure, that sounds all okay, except that you seriously don’t need to work up that sweat while sick. Gym equipment is icky as it is you don’t need to add to it and you certainly don’t need any of that stuff on you while you’re already vulnerable so lay off for a while.
3. Junk Food
Its 4am, you suddenly have the munchies. Those yummy candies look awful nice right now. No! you can not fill yourself up with candy right now, just no! Apart from being bad for you and unhealthy, you also have no idea what they put in these. millions of sugar substitutes are not going to do you any good so while youre already sick why not avoid getting even more sick.
4. Fast Paced Videogames
You’re down and out for the count, you just want to relax and play some video games. All is fine except that every time you parkour through a massive building or run through Venice to assassinate someone, you get a giant headache and are unable to do anything for a few hours. They tell you to take it easy for a reason, fast paced movement in video games can really screw with your head so maybe lay off the Mirror’s Edge or Splinter Cell a bit. Play something relaxing with not a lot of action, you don’t need to be killing bad guys while you’re sick anyway.
You are vulnerable, you are out of normal routine. It may feel natural to isolate yourself from all the people still in the rat race of their lives. You should not however completely let go. Be around other people or even your own pets but do not simply distance yourself from humanity or elde it may never be possible to recover from what ever condition you are in.
If you stick to these steps and stay on some nice medication you should be up and running back on course in no time. Get ready to tell your fevers goodbye !
